With much pride I welcome you the web sit for the BAY AREA CHARTER LEADERSHIP COUNCIL, Inc. which represents the 24 public charter schools of choice of the School District of Hillsborough County.

The BACLC is a unified collaborative of 24 (soon to be 28) public charter schools of choice sponsored by the School District of Hillsborough County, Florida which is the 8th largest school district in the nation.

BACLC is a collaborative, registered with the state of Florida for the sole purpose of providing leadership, assistance, training and support for all member schools.

Our guiding principles are simply stated yet complex in scope.

Independence Principles: Meet high standards of student achievement, while providing parents flexibility to choose among diverse educational opportunities.
Financial Principle: Utilize public funds to support innovative, data-driven academic programs that have a positive impact on learning and achievement.
Collegial Principle: Build collegial relationships to support and assist all charter schools in achieving common goals.

The BACLC, Inc. is a state authorized collaborative and has 501-3c status. Our entire focus is to ensure that our schools have every resource available so that all students we serve are challenged with curricular programs that have high expectations, provide rigorous academic standards and meet the needs of the target population each charter school serves.

Furthermore, through the efforts BACLC, a new and long overdue partnership is developing with our school district. A partnership that hold much hope for improved working relationship, and the establishment and maintenance of a highly effective collaborative environment which ultimately benefits the students of the Hillsborough County Public Schools.
