…and
the word is EXCELLENCE! Striving to
achieve the very best is my philosophy and this
is the basis for the A+ program at Crestview
Elementary, The Center for Learning Through
Writing. All students, staff and extended family
members, are aware that I will accept nothing
but 110% effort from everyone concerned,
including myself. This is my second year as
principal of Crestview Elementary School. In
these two years, I have seen tremendous academic
growth evidenced by the boys and girls who are
students here. Due to a much stronger emphasis
on reading at all grades, we have seen our
student scores soar. Total numbers of books
borrowed from our library has risen to heights
never before imagined. As I always say, “READ,
READ, READ…BECAUSE READING MAKES YOU SMARTER!”
Utilization of state-of-the-art computer
programs in the Reading and Math Labs have
enabled teachers to identify students in need of
assistance and to provide that assistance in
addition to the regular classroom program.
Additionally, our Gifted and Academic Excellence
classes provide students with enrichment
opportunities during and after-school.
Most people think the three R’s mean Reading,
‘Riting and ‘Rithmetic. At Crestview, in
addition to these well-known meanings, our three
R’s are Respect Yourself, Respect Others,
Respect our school. I place great importance on
behavior and attitude. Our students evidence a
high level of discipline and good manners,
showing respect to everyone on campus. I view
all students as individuals, each one having
strengths and weaknesses that are unique to
him/her. It is Crestview’s mission to build on
the strengths and eliminate the weaknesses. |
