Annie
Boo

Boo the Chocolate Lab is very content in his new home. His new forever family are wonderful people that send us periodic reports about how well he fits into their family. He must prefer to sleep in the 6 year old daughter's room, as they mentioned that one night he woke her up at 3 a.m. to play. They all laughed about it and everyone went back to sleep.

Boo is very trainable and anxious to please. He enjoys walks every day and is now showing excellent improvement when walking on the leash.

A Note from Annie's new forever family: Thought you might like to know that Annie continues to do well and has really settled in - definitely acts like she belongs here. She hasn't shown an interest in the swimming pool (other than to sit by the pool with her paws over the edge) but she has developed a real attachment to the beach. I take her to Honeymoon Island just about every day that I'm in town and she has progressed from wading to swimming out as far as her leash will extend. And of course, she has a ball with the other dogs and kids there. Annie

Emmy aka "Smidget"

2 lb Emmy with pal Ellie

From Emmy's new family:  OH MY GOODNESS!!! I absolutely love this little 2 lb Chihuahua. She is so adorable!! She isn't too interested in my other two dogs (Carmel & Ellie) although they would like to befriend her. But she is such a doll!! I carry her everywhere and all the kids doll clothes fit her so she has a whole wardrobe! What a sweetheart!! We named her Emmy because that was my grandma's nickname (and my grandma was little) and since she is 10 years old and therefore the 'Grandma' of our dog pack we thought it made sense.  THANK YOU all at SAFE so very much. She is so lucky that people like you find them at the SPCA when they have no hope left and find hope for them. Keep up the good work!!
Ojoe
OjoeA note from Ojoe's foster Mom: Ojoe got adopted today!! The husband and wife were super nice, brought pictures of their humungous, immaculate house and yard. She brought pictures of the inside, outside of every room and angle of the yard. Beautiful.

They had just lost their chihuahua in death last Tuesday and were heartbroken. This man was in tears when he seen OJoe and Ojoe took right away to both of them. They loved him right away. They were already making plans for him to go to doggy school, taking him to the vet.

Ojoe has got it made in the shade. He loved them as much as they loved him!! I couldn't imagine him being offered a more perfect home!!! No kidding. They didn't have any other animals and you could tell they were going to treat him like a little king. I am so happy for him!!

Max and Sadie
We went to the shelter intending to pick a dog to foster, but ended up adopting both Max & Sadie on the spot. They had been caged together and were the best of buds. Separating them would have been unthinkable.

Max, the German Shepherd just turned 1 & is a real juvenile delinquent yet he's one of the sweetest, gentlest creatures I've ever known. The Australian Shepherd/Heeler mix's name is Sadie. She has to have some Terrier in her because of her stubborn streak! Every once in a while she'll go into the "launch mode" and pounce on Max. They sure keep us laughing!

I can't imagine why anyone would want to give up these two precious creatures, but I thank God everyday for our having been blessed with their company.

I also thank S.A.F.E for introducing us. I only wish I had room for 3 or 4 more! Thanks for all the great works you do. -Barbara H.

Grace
Our Christmas wish came true! Grace found her forever home with a wonderful, loving couple! They immediately fell in love with her the Graceminute they met her and I could tell that she was quite taken with them! With Grace’s beauty, charm and good manners . . . how could anyone not love her??? She was the sweetest, best behaved foster to have come into our lives and we feel blessed to have been able to help her meet the family of her dreams! It was very hard to leave her but knowing the love they will be showered with for the rest of their lives helps to ease the pain we feel when we let them go.

Another victory for SAFE . . . and for Grace!
