We require
that our CDL Drivers meet the following criteria before they are
assigned
to
you:
| • Qualified as
outlined in Part 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. • Passes Pre-Employment Department of Transportation Physical and Drug Screen. • Participation in a Random Alcohol and Drug screening program. • Passes a pre-employment and annual review of the individuals Motor Vehicle Record. • Ensure that drivers have at least one-year driving experience to match the vehicle driven. • Has a current copy and valid Drivers License • Require a completed and verified application, including past convictions, license suspension and work history for past ten years. • Ensures that all qualified drivers adhere to the outlined hours of service criteria established by the Department of Transportation. • Has a clear and thorough understanding of the D.O.T. Rules and Regulations. |
Drivers Qualified or Not?

o Is the company obtaining an MVR at time of hire and are they able to verify the validity of the license? o Are they obtaining an MVR from each state in which the driver has been licensed in the past three years? o Are they conducting an annual MVR review along with obtaining an MVR and a list of violations annually? o Are drivers required to report moving violations within 30 days? o Do they conduct inquiries to the driver’s previous employers for the past three years for driving and employment records and the past two years for drug and alcohol test results? o Are they providing drug and alcohol awareness training materials to the driver and maintaining a receipt signed by the driver? o Does each driver have a current and valid medical examiner’s certificate? o Are drivers in a certified drug and alcohol program as outlined in Parts 382 and 40 of the FMCSR? o Does the driver have a road test certification or equivalent as outlined on section 391.33 of the FMCSR? o Has the driver had Hazmat General Awareness training? o Are they maintaining strict minimum driver standards that either meet or exceed those under the FMCSR? |
